Testimonials & Reviews
I had both lens replaced in March 2018 and I cannot believe what a difference it has made.
I had the trifocal lens because I wore contact lens but still needed glasses for reading and varifocal glasses when I wasn’t wearing my contact lens, now I don’t need any of these which is lovely, it’s great not having to take glasses everywhere and I can read tiny writing which is unbelievable. I am still getting halo’s around lights but that is to be expected as it was only 3 weeks ago I had them done. I took the package and everyone involved looked after me .l also met lots of other people and we all agreed on how nice everyone was from the driver who picked us up from the airport right up the surgeon. I would recommend the Praga Medica to anyone.Janet Symons, East YorksMarch 25, 2018

Laser eye surgery
Laser eye surgeries are outpatient surgeries performed in local anaesthesia. It takes 10-15 minutes for each eye to be operated. Both eyes are usually operated on the same day. It takes 3 days in Prague for both eyes to be operated. Most methods use femtosecond and excimer laser to correct refractive errors and achieve perfect vision again.
PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is a type of refractive surgery to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. PRK was the first type of laser eye surgery for vision correction and is the predecessor to the popular LASIK procedure. It is still performed although LASIK and ReLEx SMILE has been the most popular solution.
LASIK is a laser eye surgery that corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, and/or astigmatism. It is also known as laser eye surgery or iLASIK, ultralase. LASIK surgery creates a protective layer in the form of a corneal flap by means of femtosecond laser. No sharp instruments are used. The surgeon folds back the flap, then removes some corneal tissue underneath using an excimer laser. The flap is then laid back in place, covering the area where the corneal tissue was removed.
Intra LASIK Wavefront
LASIK Wavefront sometimes called Custom LASIK or guided wavefront lasik creates a 3D map of an eye. This 3D map shows irregularities in the way your eye processes images. Information contained in the map guides the laser in customizing the treatment to reshape your eyes corneal surface so that these irregularities can be corrected. Intra LASIK Wavefront is therefore a customised solution adding more precision to achieve perfect vision. It is one of the most popular treatments in our portfolio and many of our relatives and friends had this surgery as well.
ReLEx SMILE is the latest eye surgery method. It does use a femtosecond laser like Lasik and Intra Lasik Wavefront. However, it does not use an excimer laser as no flap and no ablation is created during this surgery. The femtosecond laser does the whole surgery in one step. ReLEx SMILE offers all benefits of LASIK surgery plus no creation of the flap.
Lens replacement – Intra-ocular surgery
Non-laser surgery and intra-ocular surgery can be more suitable for patients with more serious disorders, for elder patients and for patients whose main problem is reading glasses.
IOL Intraocular Lenses
RLE lens refractive exchange with monofocal, trifocal (multifocal) and toric lenses is suitable for patients over 40 with prescriptions beyond the scope of laser surgery. High quality Alcon and Zeiss lens implants are implanted to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism. The surgery is performed in outpatient settings. Both standard and laser assisted LenSx methods are available.
ICL Implantable Collamer Lenses
ICL implantation is a perfect solution for patients under 40 with prescriptions beyond the scope of laser surgery or with a thin cornea. We use high quality Visian ICL lens implants. One of the most common concerns people have about laser based correction is that the procedure permanently changes the shape of their eye by removing corneal tissue. The advantage of the Visian ICL is that it can permanently correct your vision, yet no natural tissue is removed or reshaped in any way during the procedure.
Cataract means reduced transparency (opacity) and hardening of the eye lens that is normally clear. We offer cataract surgery or cataract removal with monofocal, trifocal (multifocal) and toric lenses. It requires 1 visit of 5 days to have both eyes operated. Residents of EAA can benefit from reimbursement of the costs by their national health providers such as NHS and HSE. One of our most popular treatments is a cataract surgery with multifocal lenses. Patients vision is restored without any need of reading glasses.
