MORE ABOUT

LASER ASSISTED RLE SURGERY

Are you a suitable candidate?

Refractive lens exchange is suitable for patients over 40 years of age with disorders beyond the scope of laser eye surgery. A free evaluation by our eye surgeons is available for you in order to assess your suitability for the RLE surgery and type of lens implants.

What are benefits of refractive lens replacement?

The main advantage of RLE is to remove any number of diopters. It is also a preventive treatment - patients after refractive lens exchange are no more at risk of cataract and the risk of paroxysmal glaucoma is substantially reduced.

What surgery to choose if I dont want reading glasses?

To patients who would also like to get rid of reading glasses, we recommend the multifocal lens exchange method, which is refractive lens exchange completed with so-called multifocal intraocular lens implantation.

How is the laser assisted refractive lens replacement performed?

Laser assisted RLE with monofocal lenses is performed in local anaesthesia. The natural lens is crushed using a femtosecond laser instead of ultrasound. Less energy and less intrusion into the eye results in quicker recovery. The incision is made by the femtosecond laser hence increasing precision of the cut. Our experienced eye surgeon implants a new high quality Acrysof monofocal lens.

How long does the surgery take?

Quite painlessly, RLE is performed in an ambulatory setting during which an optical element (intraocular lens) is permanently implanted in the eye. It takes about 10 minutes. The patient can leave the clinic immediately after the surgery. Next day is post-operative check up.

What methods do you offer?

The price quoted is for the femtosecond refractive lens replacement surgery using LenSx. We also ofer a standard method where a small incision is made by our experienced eye surgeon.

What IOL lenses are available?

We stock many types of lenses and lens implants. Most popular are Alcon Acrysof lenses and Zeiss lenses. The standard RLE is performed with Alcon Acrysof lenses. Intraocular lenses AcrySof Restor are produced by Alcon, an American company, and have been approved for use by the European Union and the USFDA.

Laser assisted RLE surgery in Prague, Czech Republic, abroad also stands for femtosecond laser assisted RLE with monofocal lens implant, lens replacement or clear lens extraction and LenSx laser refractive lens replacement. Patients also contacted NHS, HSE, Bupa and other national health care providers and also Optimax, Optical Express, UltraLase, Lexum, Refrakcni Centrum, Accuvision, Optegra and many private providers of eye care. They were interested in best clinics for refractive lens exchange and its cost of lens replacement surgery.
