MUDr. Igor Šimoník graduated in General Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in Brno.
He begun his career in 1999 at the Bakeš Surgical Hospital in Brno as a surgeon. In 2002, he obtained a first grade medical postgraduate certificate.
Since 2003, he has been working in St. Zdislava Hospital in Mostiště. He focuses on abdominal surgery, vascular surgery, thyroid surgery and robotic surgery.
He holds a senior surgeon license and an international license authorizing robotic operations.
In 2004 he founded and now leads a bariatric clinic. It has carried out more than 2,000 operations so far, both laparoscopic and robotic. He also participates in robotic urogical and colorectal surgeries.
