PRELEX Toric

Description: Modification of PRELEX with toric (cylindrical) multifocal lens. PRELEX or PREsbyopic Lens EXchange is non-laser surgery during which a multifocal optical element (multifocal intraocular lens) is permanently implanted in the eye. The multifocal intraocular lens replaces the original human lens whose dioptric value and ability to focus did not correspond to the dioptric condition of the eye and to the needs of the patient. PRELEX is a method suitable for patients over 40 years of age who would like to see in the distance as well as to see up close without the necessity of using glasses. Acrysof ReSTORE multifocal intraocular lenses are produced by Alcon, an American company, and have been approved for use by the European Union and the USFDA.

Surgery: Quite painlessly, PRELEX is performed in the operating theatre of the outpatient clinic and the surgery takes about 15 minutes.
