Upper and lower eye lids (blepharoplasty)

Description: Blepharoplasty (eyelid reduction) is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries. Excessive skin, fatty tissue, from the eyelids and fat vesicles are removed. The procedure can involve only the upper eyelids or simultaneously both upper and lower eyelids if indicated. This saves the patient both time and money. The procedure has many variations according to the needs and wishes of the patient.

Duration: the procedure takes about 40 minutes for the upper eyelid, and about 100 minutes for both eyelids.

Adverse effects: while it is a very safe procedure, swelling and bruising of the eyelids is to be expected, the healing process takes about 6 weeks, during the healing process patients should avoid excessive reading, television, and computer, and wear sunglasses when exposed to sunlight, to aid in the healing process, and minimize scarring.

Results: excellent results can be expected with this procedure, it carries a very low risk of complications, heals fast with minimal, superficial scarring.

The operation: Excessive eyelid skin is removed according to a detailed plan, furthermore fat vesicles are removed, other cosmetic procedures can be simultaneously carried out such as filling circles under the eyes, reduction of hypertrophic muscle etc. Fat vesicles can be removed through the lower eyelid conjunctiva in indicated cases at a younger age-with superficial scarring. Scars are located in the folds of skin of the upper eyelid, and on the edge of the eyelashes on the lower eyelid, this careful procedure makes the superficial scarring barely visible. Narrow plasters are placed over the scars, allowing opening of the eyes.
