What are dental implants

A dental implant mounted into the jaw bone may replace a missing tooth. Once the implant develops a firm bond with the bone, we may use it to support prosthetic work (fixed bridgework) which would not be possible otherwise. This is a complex, yet effective method of oral rehabilitation.

Dental implantology has seen a rapid and revolutionary development in the past decades and it has become a standard therapeutic procedure in modern dentistry. The routine use of tooth implants has radically changed our view of prosthodontic rehabilitation and we can now replace missing teeth without the need for shaving down adjacent teeth to place a bridge.

Duration

2 visits of Prague within 3 months. The implant is set during the 1st visit. The lenght of stay in Prague is 4 - 7 days. The actual surgery takes just 45 minutes. After 2 - 3 months when the implant heals into the bone you will come to Prague for 2nd vist. During this visit, which takes usually 5 days, an abutment and crown, denture or a bridge is placed onto the implant.

Tooth implants are a high quality, comfortable, and long term solution. The implant is actually an supporting abutment, cylindrical or conical in shape, with an external and internal thread. It may be called an "artificial root", which forms the basis for attaching the so-called superstructures. These are various types of supports, on which the crowns or bridgework are later attached.

Modern dental implants are almost exclusively made of pure titanium with special finishing of the surface. Every client receives detailed information about the treatment plan and its costs. We are capable of offering several tailored treatment options which correspond to the given clients financial ability.

At our institute, we have been involved in implant dentistry for several years, and we have had hundreds of clients treated using this technology. We insert over 200 implants per year, if necessary, we also perform pre-implant surgery, and fabricate implant-supported prostheses/restorations.

We are a certified implant dentistry institute, and we have a licence for dentoalveolar surgery. Our institute features two operating rooms conforming to current standards, with a direct access to the sterilisation centre. In cases involving more extensive procedures on the jaws, an experienced anaesthesiologist is always present on site. The procedure is painless, comfortable and undisturbed, and takes place in the so-called analgosedation.
