Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am a mountaineer. Can I do 8000-meter peaks after the surgery?
  • Yes, you can. However, do not risk peak climbing without oxygen. There are changes in retinal perfusion in short-sighted eyes and large oxygen deficit is not good for them. We recommend to do an 8000-meter peak no sooner than 6 months after the surgery - after it is approved by the eye doctor. It is really an extreme sports performance that means a heavy load for the eye. There is no such danger in Alpine heights.

Smart tips for your Prague stay

Save on flights by making a booking as soon as your medical appointment is confirmed. Nowadays all airlines give better prices for early bookings and it can be significant if you book your ticket a week or a month before you come to Prague. Praga Medica recommends you to plan the visit in a way that you can book your flight at least 2 weeks in advance.

Unless you are in a rush, plan your stay in Prague outside of main feasts and holidays like Christmas, Easter, 1st May, July-August. Prices of flights rise significantly for these dates and so accommodation in hotels.

Combine your main treatment with supplement treatments such as dentistry or dermatology treatments for a reduced price. Save money on minor medical and beauty procedures that you would undergo in your country anyway. Use your free time to visit a hairdresser, go to a massage or see a cosmetician. You will pay half price or less compared to what you would pay at home.
