Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does the surgery take?
  • The actual operation of the laser takes on average 30 seconds. It is 5 seconds to 1 minute, depending on the number of diopters. You will spend the total of 90 to 120 minutes at the clinic. After all necessary administrative issues are dealt with at the reception desk, you will be seated in a comfortable seat where the eye will get totally insensitive with anaesthetic drops within approximately 10 minutes. This is followed by an interview with the doctor and then by the actual surgery. The surgery takes place in lying position on a comfortable couch. The whole procedure does not normally take more than 15 to 20 minutes. After another 20 to 30 minutes spent in the comfortable seat, the doctor will check the condition of your eyes, give you eye drops and instruct you about what to do in the following hours. ...Well, then it's time to go home and start new life without glasses.

Smart tips for your Prague stay

Save on flights by making a booking as soon as your medical appointment is confirmed. Nowadays all airlines give better prices for early bookings and it can be significant if you book your ticket a week or a month before you come to Prague. Praga Medica recommends you to plan the visit in a way that you can book your flight at least 2 weeks in advance.

Unless you are in a rush, plan your stay in Prague outside of main feasts and holidays like Christmas, Easter, 1st May, July-August. Prices of flights rise significantly for these dates and so accommodation in hotels.

Combine your main treatment with supplement treatments such as dentistry or dermatology treatments for a reduced price. Save money on minor medical and beauty procedures that you would undergo in your country anyway. Use your free time to visit a hairdresser, go to a massage or see a cosmetician. You will pay half price or less compared to what you would pay at home.
